Whether observing sealions in their natural habitat off the California coast, or in zoos and parks such as Sea World, I have always
been impressed by the flexibility of their rounded, yet sinuous bodies, and their apparent ability to make themselves comfortable
on the most inhospitable, rocky shores. They lift their heads toward the sun, and bask in its warmth - all the while barking and
waving their flippers about. It seems quite obvious that they are "kicking back" and relaxing on THEIR beach, much as we do ours.
